Where to find lingerie for your shoot

Boudoir photography

“I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!” We’ve all said it, many times before. I’m here to help prepare you for your boudoir session, and part of that is deciding what you want to wear.

First, think of your assets: I like to start with the positives. You have an amazing butt. Your boobs are perfect. Your collarbone drives him wild. Whatever it is, it’s important to highlight it when choosing lingerie.

Next, think of what you are self-conscious about. I’d like to say we all love ourselves so much that nothing comes to mind, but we’re human, and we’re bombarded with unrealistic images of perfection on a regular basis. Most of us grew up with some amount of fear or shame surrounding our bodies and sexuality. Don’t say “everything.” 😉

Take your skin tone into consideration when choosing colors. I love contrast; ie black lingerie on lighter-toned skin, and white lingerie on darker tones. Jewel tones look amazing on everyone. You’ll be tempted to choose all black, but try and pick some color in your outfits as well.

Big boobs or smaller boobs? Each have their pros and cons, so the grass is definitely not greener! If you have smaller breasts, look for halter-cut necklines, padded demi cups, and bras with padding in general.

Worried about your tummy? Choose high-waisted panties that aren’t cut too high in the thigh area.

Some of my favorite lingerie stores: Bordelle, Honey Birdette, Playful Promises, Amazon, AdoreMe, SHEIN and even Yandy can have cute pieces. Shopping local for Baltimore lingerie? Bra-La-La in Fulton, MD has a great selection, especially for larger-chested babes like me.

Finally, BODYSUITS are the absolute best piece of lingerie that look great on everyone. (Also called Teddies.)

And don’t forget that WE are a resource for you! Not only are we happy to help you find lingerie, but we also have a client closet FULL of lingerie, shoes and jewelry that you can borrow from during your own boudoir shoot.
